  1. I am really ticked off. Many of the survey sites route you through your-surveys, but for some reason my account is blocked with them. They claim I am using a proxy server. I enter a ticket everytime this happens and they are getting a little snarky with me. They tell me not to enter a new ticket, but I tell them they can't tell me what I can or cannot do. This problem is costing me money since many sites route through them; e.g. Vindale, Mintvine, Inbox dollars, etc. This is the only site that gives me problems. Does anyone else have this happen to them?

  2. When I see this on a 50 cent or less survey I get angry but then smile as I respond with a word or two and write, this is your 15 cents worth. What level of quality do these companies expect when the pay a pittance?

  3. Did anyone do the survey for the invite? All of April for 300 points! What? How low-ball is that? I may have a glass of wine once a week so it wouldn't take much time. Imagine though someone having a beer a few days a week. You would be getting screwed doing that survey! I did one for MySurvey before and it paid much more for less time. I think I'll pass this time.

  5. I've had that as well. That is one of several things I like about Pinecone. You don't have to especially like the product concept or would ever buy it.

  6. Oh! I'm so glad you posted this! I didn't know it was everyone dealing with this. I started getting them and figured I had gotten too many of those ridiculously hard to read captchas wrong and they flagged me or something. But this new thing is a horror! Like with the street signs... seems like sometimes they want the sign posts included, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they want a gas station included as a "store front" and sometimes they don't. It's maddening!

  7. Something I cannot wrap my head around with surveys is how a lot of them will disqualify you if you honestly say that you've done surveys with the same sort of topic as the one you get disqualified from. Today I started to do a survey, it asked me if I've done any studies about advertising in the last 3 months; I say yes, as watching ads or giving opinions about billboard/internet advertisements is a pretty common thing to come across with surveys. Aaaand I'm instantly disqualified. Do survey makers think that survey takers do so little surveys that they never come across the same topic twice?

  8. Depends on the subject I don't want to do the same survey over and over again. If it's one I have done I x out of there especially if it was long and boring they don't have to worry about me doing it again..

  9. I always just say no. There are so many surveys that usually differ dramatically even for the same general topic that one should not be DQd. And when it's the same survey they have a data base for that. I feel comfortable saying no to that nonsense question.

  10. Out of the last 7 days of doing surveys I had one good day,one day that was just okay, and then there were five that were crappy........I spend between 4-6 hours trying to do them and I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth it. Just Ranthing

  11. The ones I'm on were by survey invitation only.I am a member of gongo's (aka consumervillage.com )and they have asked me to be on a panel for them.In fact you can be on more then one of their panels but I would think you have to be with the initial site for awhile before the invites will come. You don't need a referral- plus I believe if you are a man it is easier to become a member. You can try them but don't expect to be picked for a panel real fast.Have you tried focus group companies in your hometown? This is where you go to the company's headquarters and do the focus group in person.I have done those in the Austin area and the pay is better just google focus group for the town or area you live in.

  12. Ah! I just asked a question about this in the "other ways to make money" section. I asked how to find the focus groups/communities, and if they're only available via survey site invitations. I'd love to find some good ones that pay monthly... but I can't find how to do that. Maybe if you see my post, you could help me out, soldoutcreations? In the past I was part of a few of them (invitations from survey sites) and I enjoyed it a lot more than doing "nothing but surveys."

  13. I focus more time at focus groups I signed up for first. After checking out all the focus groups I'm in then I'll go bother with surveys. I'm more likely to be rewarded by contributing to focus groups then trying to get a few cents or a dollar or so for 1 survey. I really focus more on surveys when there is nothing going on in the focus groups I am apart of. I love the site called Crowdtap, so I stop by there and burn loads of time because I'm a fan of the site. Moral of this would be to focus more time contributing to focus groups and panels... You'll likely to be rewarded from focusing at those groups then just answering surveys.
