Looking at their web site it says 25,000 points get you a  $15 AGC .So if you were to cash in that amount 4 times it would cost you 100,000 points for a sum of $60  .So why not wait cash in 100,000 and get $100 dollars? It just dumbfounds me as to why people would forfeit that much potential earnings just to cash out early. Not only that but you could get a $100 agc for 100,000.I guess I like beating a dead horse but I couldn't help myself.

While I 100% agree with you that, mathematically, it makes absolutely no sense to get the lower amount gift cards and I do the same thing of cashing out at 100,000, it also needs to be said that it takes F - O - R - E - V - E - R to get to 100,000 on YouGov.  I take every single survey they send me, and there's always at least a couple every week, but the vast majority are only worth 500 points (at least, what I get).  The last time I cashed out was Oct. 28th, 2016 and I am currently at 75,250 points so at the rate this is going I'll be lucky if I can cash out before the year is over.  While I have the "luxury" of waiting over a year until I can finally get to the better payout, other people may need gift cards NOW to help pay for basic household items and are willing to sacrifice the better deal in exchange for fast cash and convenience, which when you think about it really isn't all that different from taking the lump sum if you win the lottery or more predatory practices like payday loans, using layaway, etc; and people still do all that - some because they feel they have no choice, some because they're morons.

Also don't discount how many people are distrustful of survey companies packing up and jumping ship in the middle of the night or suddenly kicking them off panels and losing their points so some may cash out at the earliest possible time even in situations like this where it's not a great deal because to them getting something now is better than nothing in a year.

Lump sum when winning the lottery is totally different - the fact is, it actually does make more sense to take the lump sum, under most circumstances, because what they're doing to give you the annuity is basically just annuitizing it themselves, and they have to invest fairly conservatively. If you take the money right away, you can invest it more broadly, and most likely end up with more total profit in the end. ;)

That last paragraph is the real reason I would consider not taking it - I have been kicked unceremoniously off a survey site I'd used without issue for years, for reason that were and still remain unclear. Lost 50 bucks I'd already "earned" that way. I still take the $100 with YouGov, because the difference is just too stark, but it always worries me that I could have $99 worth of points and get booted for no good reason.

I don't feel like it's too slow to generate points - my first cashout with them was 12/4/2016. I didn't write down when I joined them, but my second cashout was 8/22/2017. So not crazy fast, but not terrible either. I've generated 9000 points since that cashout.

Excellent answer, NaomiNo.  I have no idea which I will choose when it's time (if ever  :-D )  to cash out again, but I do know a number of people who use the Amazon gifts they get online for household items that waiting a year for would make no sense at all.   I haven't asked them, but I suspect that they'd say $15 every few months to help with household expenses instead of waiting a year is fine with them.

That said, I've lost money, too, over the years waiting for larger cashouts when whoooosh, woke up one day and the place was gone. (with everyone's money, of course.)  There are always alternate considerations about why people make the choices they make.

I've had that happen, too... with no way to contact them... nothing.   Also, I haven't been liking some of the stories I've read here on the forum about survey places kicking off/locking out and refusing to give a reason why... nasty stuff!

I like them they are political surveys- most I would say at least 90% but then there are some other types. Most surveys are not that long but like everyone has said it can take awhile to accumulate points. However if you do every single one they send it will be faster. It is very hard not to qualify for a survey however it does happen on the rare occasion.I cashed out on 8/10/16 and right now I have a little over  90 thousand points. They do not offer checks anymore it's only a prepaid visa card or agc for $100.

Never really thought about those folks who had a need for it immediately. But then again if you need fast cash this is okay to mess around with but by no means would I count on it as a part time job.

I personally cant remember a time I have lost money with a survey company over the amount of $50.But never say never you cant rely on these companies.

You can get a $50 Amazon for 55,000 points. I find that differential palatable. Just me.

At least that's better then $15 for  25,000.However for me I know I can wait it out to the $100 but for those who cant it is a better alternative.

I just joined a couple weeks ago and I have been getting a couple surveys s week I like it that you always qualify and the surveys are not that long I would like to wait for the bigger payout when the time comes that I can cash out but I can see that sometimes you just don't want to wait a year if that's how long it takes

Speaking of yougov, did anyone here every hear back regarding the movie that was being made?  I made it to round 2 or 3, and then never heard another thing.

I haven't heard anything either. For a while I thought that advertisement with the little girl in the car was the movie, I think it was an x-men movie trailer. I thought that because they said one scene had killers or something in the car and a little girl in the back seat.

I always wait for the $100. the first time it took 2 years, the second time it was closer to 1 year.  the last time I cashed out was aug. 2105, I only at 62750 points now, it'll be awhile before I can cash out.  I think they send some people more surveys than others. I've often wondered if the people that give a lot of opinions on the various topics on the website get more surveys than people that don't..

I don't think they will disappear in the middle of the night because a lot of their survey results appear in news stories.  the other day I got a 1500 point survey from them.

I don't like how they make predictions on what you may like and ask if they are right.

I had to ask about some points I hadn't received.  They did give them to me, but I am never sure how long it should take to get credit for some of their surveys.  Most of them are credited right away.  I may have jumped the gun on that one. I do hear about surveys results now and then on TV.  It has always taken me around 2 years to cash out at $100, but I think it is worth it. I will stay with them for as long as they will have me.

I got stiffed on one or 2 of their surveys .It was the ones that asked if you would like to continue for extra points.I did it and never got my points even after I complained.I wont do any extra point surveys for them anymore.Actually one was fro my daughter so she wont do it either -like I have always said it is one thing to steal from me but don't you dare steal from my kid.
