Frequency Of Being Asked Your Religion

It seems lately that about 50% of surveys have been asking me what religion I practice. I don't mind sharing but I really don't know how my religion reflects on what laundry detergent I use or that yogurt I buy. IMHO asking me my religion and then asking me what kind of car I drive or what brand of appliances I own, etc can lead to stereotyping and prejudices. Maybe I am just being too sensitive.

Anyone finding that you are asked your religion a lot more as of late? WHY do they want to know? To target certain ethnicities and religions, not to target others? I don't have a clue.

That question has been on 99% of all the surveys that I have done since I started them 7 years ago.

It's a new one to me. Was asked every once in awhile over a ten year period until lately. Wondering why it's so relevant all of a sudden .

I have been asked my religion a lot.  I think they want to know if people of a certain religion do not want to buy a certain item.

That is a very positive way of looking at this question. Thank you!

I have noticed that at least 25% of surveys that I take nowadays ask me about my religion, compared to maybe 10% a couple years ago. I also notice that at least 75% ask about my sexual orientation, which is annoying because I don't see why that's anyone's business nor how it's relevant to surveys about food for instance.

I think every single survey I do asks religion, sexual  orientation ( at least 6 choices), age, income.. comes with the territory..oh and zipcode too.. no matter what the subject of the survey is.. and they really get in the weeds with political choice too

I see no problem with them asking you about what sex or religion you are, or your income.  Sometimes for surveys they are only looking for females or males or they want to know how you feel about sensitive subjects if you are born again Christian.  I just read about two librarians in a conservative town that got fired because they put up a display which displayed the autism colors, and somebody working there though they were promoting Pride events, and went to the library board, and got them fired.  The two librarians are filing a lawsuit to get their job back.
