Care Access Is Looking To Pay You To Get Blood Test

They seem to be doing this across the country in sporadic locations. They are paying approx $45 to each person who volunteers to give them a blood sample and you get a free diagnosis on your cholesterol and sugar levels. Check out the Care Access website for more info to sign up. The blood tests are carried out by certified medical professionals. It is totally legit. I was informed of this via a rep from the U-Test research company as a panel member.

They are currently researching cholesterol levels and I assume working on future drugs that would help lower cholesterol levels and simply need small blood samples among many people to conduct their clinical trials. I have an appt to have it done in NJ tomorrow.

I tried to sign up for that.  They have two sites in Chicago I could go to, but the one that is closest to me they only have appointments for 8/22-8/24, and plus I am not sure how accessible the place would be to public transportation, and plus it would probably take me 1 1/2 hours on the Subway to get there.  If it was closer I would consider.  I have done a few cholesterol studies, and I would probably be eligible for one of their studies.  I am not familiar with this company.

I will keep you all informed how my appt goes today. It is about a mile walk from the train station and will take me 1.5 hrs to get there via public transit. But, I figured I could spend some time in the city afterwards (if I don't pass out). Just hoping they don't take too much blood or I risk fainting. I've been out of work all summer, so can really use the extra $45....and it better be a visa gift card and not a store gift card. I actually may call to confirm this before going.

Unfortunately they cancelled on me and rescheduled in two weeks from now. However, not holding my breath that the newly scheduled appt isn't cancelled too.

It's been a while since I've done one, but the clinical lipid studies I used to do, paid me with a visa card.  You know you have to fast for 12 hours before they do the blood draw?  If they do the blood draw and find something, you will probably be eligible for a study there.  If I was in your situation, I would have been more likely to do it, but I am on social security, and I also get some money from another source, and so I don't desperately need the money.  There are lots of jobs out there though if you are willing to take a job at a store or restaurant.
