I guess another survey company bites the dust. They now want me to upload my Govt Photo ID to continue participating. Of course I would not trust doing that. Such a shame cause Iiked them too.

All sites are going to go that way soon because of AI & bots they want to make sure you're human & I guess they only way to do that is asking for picture ID but they could always call you at home since the site you sign up for has your home number usually

Then most sites that you're with that are going the way of ID you're not going to be able to cash out anymore

If that actually happens I will not longer do surveys.

Do you know what caused them to ask for ID? Like are you close to, or have you made at least $600 this year through them? Cause, to me at least, that might make a little more sense. But if you haven't made that much and are being asked for ID out of the blue, that doesn't make as much sense to me. Other than what others have mentioned which is AI/bots must be getting bad on that site? Recently I had an issue on a survey app where I suddenly stopped getting any surveys, long story short after asking customer service about it for the second time (they were totally unhelpful the first time) they wanted my ID... I've never had to provide ID just to get some customer service help before. I've heard of some survey sites possibly asking for it if you do something like change a phone number that's used for verification. Back to the $600 in a year thing, I was still never asked to provide ID for that either back when I used to make at least that much in a year on a single survey site. But when I did make that much I would get asked the beginning of the next year to fill out a W9 so they could send me a 1099 for what I made. They're required to by law. I didn't like giving them my SSN but I figured since I made so much money through them that it was worth it, and they did say if they didn't get a filled out W9 from me that they might ban me or something, didn't want that lol. That was such a good survey site, too bad they shut down.

I voted yesterday and no ID required.

Good connection there. No ID needed to vote (which is much more important) yet IDs wanted from survey companies I made less than $30 from in a year?? I unsubscribed from their emails, but if they ever realize how many participants they would lose from this dumb rule, then hopefully they will reconsider. None of my survey sites requested this info except Cloud Connect.

When you register to vote, you are required to show them your ID.  Survey companies are requiring IDs because of bots.  I would not give my ID for any company that I made less than $30 from.

Cloud research asked me for id verification a few months ago. Luckily they let me cash out. But I would not give it to them. They use a third party fr the certification and I would not trust it. I resent them asking because I have been a member for over 2 years and they can tell I am not a bot if they look at the things I have written in surveys and to the researchers.  Beside I never made much with them and the site wasn't worth my ID.

I belong to many sites and NONE have asked me for my Photo ID except for Cloud Connect. I am definitely not seeing this trend you mentioned. (Amazon Mech Turk did want my SS number last spring and I just ignored their requests and nothing happened).

Still doesn't prevent someone showing up to vote pretending to be someone else. But thats a whole different topic not for this thread. Haha
