rosiesmom
Just got an email from Pinecone today asking for referrals. I don't really know anyone who I would refer. Just thought I would throw it out there for those who might want to get their foot in the door.

Besides Pinecone is at present nothing more than a shadow of its old self and I'd never recommend them. Sorry to be so harsh but I truly believe this to be true. 3

When I was dropped to "freshen the panel" , they had just gone to the router system instead of the original system where if you got an email invite , you had that survey. The router sent one on a goose chase and all of the surveys I received at that point were for drinkers , smokers , of gamers - I am none of those - so always DQed. 1
Samanthana23
So, in short, Pinecone isn't worth trying?

footfree
Last time I got one it kept spinning till I qualified - kinda like Unlock which use to be Springboard. I believe most of these sites are hanging on by a thread.

I went through a phase of it saying I wasn't qualified to take it and then I would wait a moment and try again, maybe I would get in and maybe I wouldn't. I don't get much from them anymore. I remember the days of you were basically pre-approved and they paid $5 for each survey.

In a "freshen the panel" phase about 10 years ago , I was removed. No loss. It had started to go downhill by then.

kyle54935
Usually I get the Nielson surveys which I can complete 95% of them. Now they are they are using differnet routers like a typical survey company such as Survey Junkie. I cashed out I much as I could. I wouldn't be surprised if I see Sample Cube or Itraffic routers next.

Honestly, with the most recent change to the way their pay works (still paying $3 per survey, but with a minimum cashout of $10, which you will notice is also not divisible by $3), I'm probably out myself, after I eventually make it to $15... I will note, though, while it's technically true that once upon a time, if you were sent an invite to a paid survey, you knew you would qualify for it... that's only true in the most technical sense - back in the day, they sent unpaid screener surveys, they were just separate unpaid screener surveys. I'm fine with the current method; it's not fundamentally different from the old one, just in timing. That said, it feels like their screeners have also gotten longer over time, which I'm much less happy with. That coupled with having the same pay they had a decade ago, despite a decade of high inflation, and now making it even harder to actually cash out, yeah, I'm definitely a lot less happy with them these days than when it was hard to find an invite, when I started this hobby years ago. I'm not surprised to hear they're using routers now, too - I haven't seen one of those, but if that starts becoming prevalent in their invites, and especially if they don't disclose which ones are which... I'm not sure I'd even make it to $15. That is definitely the sign of a survey company doing a last-ditch cash grab. 1
rosiesmom
I figured that since I was over 60 I would get the boot soon, but so far, that hasn't happened. But it could.
