teachell
Folks, I know this is the internet age and I have been finding lots of interesting links on online surveys. Has anyone written a book on this industry? It would seem that there could be at least a dozen chapters in the book from what I have been reading about on this board! Any direction appreciated if there is such a book/several book titles that I could read. teachell
LizzieAnn
I would say that as the main criteria for completing surveys is confidentiality and client trust that a book could not successfully be written and published without their being some rather nasty copywright repercussions. It is just possible that there may be some kind of e-book or pamphlet and I know that I could easily fill a book as I have really made this my specialist subject over the last 5 years, but the nature of the beast is that there is no way you can put it into words without incurring the wrath and breach of confidentiality of all the companies you work for. Even in general terms, I doubt very much you could write about the survey experience simply because it is so much of an individual thing. I am sorry I cannot be of more help and I love this site and am learning too, even though every day you learn from the surveys you receive in your inbox, you can always learn more here! Take care and do let us know if you find a book! LizzieAnn
Dantheman
someone should get there spouse to write it if he/she has time and ability writing about a panel you are a member of just seems like a disaster

teachell
I guess I was wondering if someone had written about the overall nature of the industry, topics like: How do members get chosen for a survey? What sort of demographic information do you provide? What makes for a legitimate survey company? What kinds of questions do you get asked? How can you be objective when rating items on a scale of 1-10 or 1-5? I did find this site which lists marketing firms: http://www.greenbook.org/ that seems to be another place where you could go and contact the various companies. I just haven't had time yet to do that! I guess I look at the Mystery Shopping industry and they have whole conventions and certification programs that go along with that industry. I was thinking this industry has the same. Keep the information flowing! Ever learning, teachell
