Horrendous swagbucks

Ahhh, the survey site that screws over UK members. I know I posted about Swagbucks ages ago but I remained a member because regardless of everything, I do earn money from them but they are so bad for UK members.

Every single day the same old crap happens. New Gold surveys, which time and time again are not relevant for me. It seems they just give all members all surveys regardless of what they have already answered in their profiling questions. Normally I get surveys to do with being a business owner or a CEO. Some of these have no way of "screening out" either. 

For example, first question after entering your DOB will be "Are you the CEO ?" or "Are you a High ranked manager ?". No "none of these" to screen out and get the 1SB for not qualifying. So I either have to lie (which I never do on surveys) or just close the page and get nothing. Many people will lie though, complete the survey as best they can and get the reward. Which then means a company has research data they can't use, and then it possibly means less surveys and rewards in the future for all of us.

Why do they scam members and people who commission the surveys? The other day I did 1 which was 3 minutes for 40SB (£0.20). It was on the SSI platform and took more like 20 minutes. I completed it and received my 40SB. A bit later I looked at Opinion Outpost, who had a survey, 15 minutes for 10 points (£0.50), and guess what? It was that exact survey I did earlier on Swagbucks for £0.20. When I realised it was the same, I closed it off in order not to complete it twice.

Then, they are the worst for not crediting SB. Today I took a survey there which I completed, but got no reward at the end. This happens more than anywhere else.

Gold surveys are just as bad in the US for lack of screening and demographics are very narrowly focused most of the time. We have Peanut Lab as well which actually is better and I earn more points from them than the Gold Surveys. I started back up OO again this month and have made over $75 US in just 3 weeks. Even though OO cut their pay to .40 cents and .80 cents USD for many of the surveys, I make more SOME days for a heck of a lot less time than on SB. It's just that there are more consistent minute to minute earning opportunities on SB than regular survey sites so I make more per day but earnings per hour are just the pits. Not so bad if most of it is auto nCraves and mobile app SBs. Not so great if it all comes on clicking manual nCraves and Toolbar TV.

 

I have no idea how survey companies trust any of the data via online surveys on SB. Some of the self-admitted liars via posts on SB/Reddit make you doubt the validity of any of these online surveys. Maybe one of the reasons they pay so poorly.

I have been doing better with them and getting at least 4 surveys a week or so.  But I will go back to full time work and I will be back to a few pennies a day.  I don't usually get anything in the Gold Surveys, but the peanut lab ones are where I get a few points.

Perhaps you are right there. I find peanut labs just as bad a lot of the time. When I know I will get the "sorry this survey is not for you" message, I don't even bother giving an answer and close the popup tab.

Quite a few in peanut labs at the moment but its the same old. The few that are for not bad cash (around 5 minutes for 60sb), are 1's I instantly won't qualify for. They already have my profile details filled in but 1 of these asked "do you have a car? yes/no". I don't as stated in my profile, so I click no and "sorry. this survey isn't for you". 

Yeah OO are great. Today alone I earned £3.75 so far. Just would be a shame to have a lot less surveys there because Swagbucks don't regulate their members too well and pay so little that a lot of people give false answers as it's not worth their time to answer honestly.

I feel SB encourage people to answer falsely too with their streak and other incentives like "swago". The streak gives a SB bonus for reaching goals of course, but what if someone is 20SB short of a daily goal and has nothing else to do to earn cash on the site? I'm sure quite a few will answer a survey not aimed at them and give all false answers to gain that extra 20sb

I saw something on FB this morning from Swagbucks about the Paypal payouts.  I don't understand anything about it.  I did cash out for 2 paypals this month.  But now I am unsure how long this will take.  Pinecone payout is like the next day.  Ugh.

They've gone to a new processor. Once they've paid you you should get an email and your status should say "shipped". THEN you can look for the money in your PayPal account by 10 AM PT the next day. Still waiting on PayPal payment in verified status from last week. We shall see how it goes. As long as they pay me consistently that is all that matters. Why can't they all be like OO where it's like 5 minutes to get paid via PayPal?

Yesterday status changed to "shipped" under order status. No email. Today got the PayPay email from processor and money was in PayPal account. That was one week from request. Will do another one this week and see how long this request takes for PayPal.

Stuck at the moment close to cashout but unable to get it due to rubbish on offer. 947SB currently and for the last 8 days its only increased by 1SB each day (daily poll). Not worth watching 10 videos for 3SB

Do you do any searches?  I usually get at least 5 SB for those, and sometimes it goes as high as 29.  I am making all I can right now because I will be back to my usual 3 SB per day when I start back to work.  I would like to make at least $1 a day if possible.  I have made a little this summer on my purchases as well.  That helps.

More rubbish from them today. I completed 2 surveys. 1 for 52 and 1 for 78sb. Both were completed. 1 didn't redirect to Swagbucks and the other said "Survey complete, thank you" and "click here to close this page", I clicked there, it closed the page and not credit.

Plus a week ago they had some terrible offer via 1 of their paid to signup incentives. It was to sign up and play starcolony game. For 48 hours they were offering double the points (240sb instead of 120). I signed up and started playing. To get credited you needed to upgrade your command centre to level 6. 

Little did I know the upgrade from level 5 to 6 takes 4 days as it's a time based browser game (a space version of farmville). So that means it was impossible to be a new user and reach level 6 to get the SB's credited before the double SB offer expires.

Not wanting to be defeated, I played on to just get the 120sb. My command centre hit level 6 today and.... nothing. 

So yep, another 250sb not credited. From experience as well, contacting customer support doesn't work because they always tell you it was because you didn't do it right, quota was filled or better luck next time

I was thinking that out of all the survey sites I do, when it comes to survey problems, there are more issues with Swagbucks surveys, than all the others probably combined. Their CS will credit and I don't have that many issues that I go to the well that often but there are more issues with their Gold Surveys than there should be. They of course don't run the surveys they just contract out to some firm that is the real aggregator. They really seem to not be able to push back against their vendors very much. Guess you don't bite the hand that feeds but other sites IMO have much better quality control or route for companies that have fewer issues. I do a lot of surveys for OO and have minimal technical issues with the surveys (not the site) the overwhelming majority of the time. Can't say the same for Swagbucks.

I can't lie, I just can't do it.  I get surveys where they are asking for the minor child to complete the survey and I make her come to the computer and try it.  Always, almost, she is screened out.  The only time she hasn't been is with Pinecone and Valued Opinions.  Weird.  I don't always make the daily amount, the extra points would be nice.

This is on Swagbucks end I believe. They are just a portal, but they have a poorly designed webscript that normally means the profile data that is already filled in, means absolutely nothing when trying to find you a survey to take. 

Another downfall of their script is the lack of ability to define which surveys have already passed their quota. I know OO sometimes put you onto surveys and a few questions later it says quota filled, but that is normally if I haven't done a survey there for a few days and the filled quota surveys hadn't been flushed from the system yet.

I guess there will be more negatives in the future but it would always be hard to write Swagbucks off entirely due to the cashouts I do eventually make there

I have to agree.  I can at least see my account grow each day.  It takes a while but that is OK, I can cash out for $25 more than once every 2 years.

This morning I logged in to SB and I always try to find a survey first.  The peanut lab surveys had plenty to chose from.  But every time I tried to qualify for one, it would dq me and take me to a healthcare survey for 35 minutes.  Even though I had clicked on the ones that were 10 minutes for 65 SB.  Every time.  So I won't be doing a survey today it looks like.  Thanks for letting me vent.
