I had to close my checking account to stop wonderful paypal from extracting money from my account for something I had cancelled. more than once-more like FOUR times. And I told paypal that what I had bought was canceled several times. And the next month? Paypal was there at my checking trying to take another payment out. Over and over. It caused me to be overdrawn several times. It caused me a lot of hassles. Finally I just went into the bank. Sat there with a bank clerk and had "her" balance the account and sign off on it. Then I closed the account. Next month the bank calls me. There is another payment paypal is asking for... I said you know what? YOU DEAL WITH IT... That account is closed and if you want to pay them-that's your problem. But do not call ME AGAIN. The woman that called knew I had her and got very quiet when I said that. She remembers me coming in all those times and finally closing the account-it's a small town.. And that was the end of it. My paypal account still has that bank on it and a canceled credit card. I am afraid to give them new account information for fear this might happen again. I mean it happened to me like 4 times !!!!! Now all these places are switching to paypal. I wish theyd all just let us choose whether we want paypal or checks. the amazon gift certs-suck. the points for stuff sucks-unless its for cash. but with the EXTREME problems i had with paypal. i will never like them after that mess. paypal cost me about 300.00 in fees for over drafting my checking during all the overdrafting they did to me. a lot of people like paypal. but not me-not after what they did to my checking account so many times. Luckily i had a new email address, i just will spend the money online or pay for a check i dont believe in setting up online wallets with bank acounts or credit cards.
