I saw this on tv and decided to Google it --the part I like the most is the last paragraph in the article -in case you dont want to read the whole article here is the last paragraph

Saez attributes the trend not just to technology and job outsourcing, but to the reduced power of progressive tax policies and unions, along with "changing social norms regarding pay inequality."

that last sentence should be applied to pay in doing surveys as far as I'm concerned
