Newsletters about joining survey sites aren't honest

I'm signed up to this newsletter called "takesurveys" I don't remember how but I thought I'd keep it anyway and occasionally they send emails like "join this panel" and today I got one saying "EARN £5 A SURVEY WITH VALUED OPINIONS" Since when do they give £5 a survey?? I've been with them a while now and the highest I've ever got I think was a £3 survey ONCE. Most are 50p - £1.

Also I've noticed when I've clicked on the join button it's got a sneaky referral link in it that they haven't said anything about so I enter the site again without the link.
