  2. A lot of it depends on demographics. IAfter doing about 23,000 surveys, I find that the typical survey wants someone who: has a paid TV service has kids has a smart-phone watches mainstream TV shows on cable has a streaming movie service likes rock music recognizes celebrities is younger than 50 I miss out on all of those

  3. Samp28 - the phrase get over it IMO is a curt response. Could have been worded a little more tactful. How about I know how survey companies are. I just click out and try something else. I like my expresso with a little bit of milk in it.

  4. Okay, so I just found the page where you choose a security question/answer. Apparently, I had chosen one before, but forgot the answer. Updated and all is well now...I hope!

  5. I don't think no one has to get over anything. This is a rant/rave section of the forum. That's what it's for. Ranting, raving and letting off steam. In a polite way...................

  6. I was able to set up automatic direct deposit with mechanical turk today. It was a very quick and easy process. Just log in as usual and click on "overview". It will guide you to set up direct deposit. You can choose the frequency for how often you want payments to be deposited. I think you can choose from every 7, 14, 30, or 60 days. It took me under 2 min to set it up. I was just surprised they didnt send a confirmation email to confirm that it was added. Starting in a few weeks, you can no longer be paid via Amazon payments. You have to set it up directly with Amazon Turk website.

  7. Yeah, and blew my mind it was from brain cancer. What I was aware of was him having tendinitis issues from drumming in both his arms and legs, which could be painful and cause one to give up drumming, but not likely to kill you. Got 'Nobody's Hero' through my mind now, it was about AIDS, but that part about 'cure the wasting disease' could apply to cancer as well, which I've dealt with myself. https://www.downvids.net/rush-nobodys-hero-1247753.html

  8. I have been contacted by businesses and sites after taking surveys. I can't say for certain that it was Tellwut, BUT I know I took the daily surveys yesterday and they are not showing up on my account. So starting today I will be taking a screen shot as soon as I am done taking them and check it again the next morning before I begin the questions for the day. This has happened to be 2X in the past week. And I did log in. Do paying attention isn't an option anymore, or I am just wasting time. I did get a couple of surveys done last week with them, but it was a wash with the 2 days that I didn't get credit. Sooo, that being said, I do think that our info is sold by the survey companies and that is how I am ending up with over 100 junk emails every day. Ridiculous. I don't open them, I just delete and go on. And deleting cookies is a good thing. And don't do any banking surveys. There, I am done now.

  9. They all track us and sell our info. Set up your cookie manager so each site's cookies disappear when you leave the site. Don't know why that's all crossed out.

  10. I always set a daily goal. Throughout the day I will have my ups and downs. Often times you get screwed by late disqualifications and completed surveys with no points but at the end of the day I can look at this little pad to the left of me, where I keep score, and nine times out of ten I will meet the dollar amount I set for that day, which is usually 10 dollars, a bit lower on weekends and holidays. So how you get there is irrelevant, just know that at the end of the day, most of the time, you're going to meet the goal for that day.

  11. They actually answered my email and on a Sat.to boot.I kinda remember accidentally changing my password and I didn't write it down .So now I'm waiting to hear back on how to change it because when I press the security button it does nothing -I keep pressing send but the button isn't working,so I told them to text me the code and it's my house phone(yes I still have one-LOL)well we know you cant get a text that way.So hopefully they will answer my email and I will get this resolved .

  12. Just tried logging in, and I was asked a security question, the answer to which I had no clue because I don't recall ever having had to choose such a question/answer there before. Then tried logging in through a different link on the page, and I was able to log in without being asked the question. Site is a bit slow for me, but the spinning/buffering/whatever doesn't last so long.

  13. I think we all have good and bad days doing surveys. Sometimes I find myself yelling at the screen and other times I find I get most of the surveys finished. I think it all works out in the end.

  14. Thanks to a bit of inspiration from Samp28, here's an Eagles tune we might want to keep in mind next time we get all ticked off at some survey site:

  15. I do think it is possible. My husband's uncle would doodle ideas on paper and then start the process of getting a prototype rigged up, testing, and then getting a patent on the product. He didn't use kickstarter anything, just his own money, but he made a very decent living off of his inventions. I mentioned a type of umbrella to him once and he raised his hand to stop me and produced the umbrella that he created 20 years prior. Weird.
