I've only been active in online survey panels for 5 years and around 50,000+ surveys attempted. I have Asperger's and can do surveys for long stretches at a time. I've noticed an increasing number of panels this year going "dark". Dark means essentially becoming inactive and no longer sending invitations. This strands the rewards you have earned. Some panels have not been affect, but some, like i-Say, have become very parsimonious, no longer following "all surveys count", and even have zero point surveys, screen outs that no longer have scant consolation points, diminished loyalty awards or unable to deliver on even the contest entries.
I think this is a question for the more seasoned panelists that have seen down turns before, is this any different?
The only uplift has been the academic surveys sites that have been polling the heck out of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
