Useless
I got McAfee with my Dell as well, and didn't renew when it expired, but kept getting the pesty popups for almost two years. I finally got charged $149.99 for a new subscription I never asked for. It took me two or three months, a long phone call with a guy I couldn't understand for the life of me, posts to their on-line community and some e-mails to finally get it cancelled. I did get my money back. Check with the Better Business Bureau. They have quite a complaint file there.
NFriday
When I tried to sign into my MCAfee account, they told me my email address did not exist in their system.

Sandy21
Just use Revo Uninstaller and be done with it. It really does remove all traces.
