Some vendors actually put a hold on the card for a few dollars AND charge what you owe them. So, if you order $30 worth of merchandise with the virtual visa and they put a hold, it will get kicked back. I use them to order gift cards for birthday gifts and such. So, I just order a $25 gift card (in case they put a hold on the card). Once the transaction goes through, I use the balance to buy Amazon gift cards for my account.
