has anyone ever heard of "MF MicroMart Company"? i got an envelope 2day from them. it had a check made out for $1992.20. i glanced at it and said to myself, this is just a fake check and someone wanting to sell me something or the like. well i set it aside and a few hours later i looked it over out of curiousity, and lo and behold it is a real check. i dont know anything about this company.they said their affilate company"Consumer Survey Specialist"(?)reccommended me to them. the letter says that im wanted to take part in a paid shoppers program. i just dont know about this guys. the odd thing that raises a red flag to me is ive got to activate the check on their website. ive got a feeling they are gonna want too much info. just doesnt right. any help would be greatly appreciated on this matter.

Sounds skunky to me. You know the old saying "if it sounds too good to be true ...." Don't fall for it. Especially since you never heard of the company that "recommended" you to them. Screams scam to me.

100% scam!! Please don't register or cash the check. It will end up costing you a lot of money. Even if it came from a site you were familiar with, still a scam. No legitimate company sends out checks like that.

I personally think you should turn it over to the States Attorney Office fraud division. In Texas where I'm from you click on the "consumer protection" button to do so.Unfortunately to many people (especially the elderly)get ripped off by scams like this.I have even seen it on the news where they talk about about this.Plus it's just like the Western Union checks those things are a fraud .No legit company will pay you for your services before you have ever worked for them - and never give your ssn# to any company.I have only given my ssn# to one survey company and that was Livewire but that was when I was young and naive and first started doing surveys.Thank goodness that worked out good for me, they are the only legit survey company I would do this for.

The check could clear BUT they can come weeks later and stop payment it then your out. They know that some people wait till it clears then stop payment weeks later. ........................

I was reading up on the very same thing, didn't know they could "stop payment" weeks later............

Call the bank the check is written on and find out if the funds are in that account. I went through somehing like this a couple of years back and my bank called the bank the check was written on and it was a FAKE. If you attempt to deposit the check and it bounces you are stuck with the FEES. I would contact that bank and guve them the account info and go from their. Its a fake but a phone call is quick and painless.

Just googled the company name. An article has been posted about them on Ripoff Report.

thats exactly what i did my friend. i went to Ripoff Report and checked up on them too. wasnt too good to say the least. you know these arent probably legit when you 1st glance at em, but in the back of your mind you think maybe, just hoping that...well you know how it is. i learned a long time ago not to jump into anything youre not too sure about. always do some digging. sad to say that alot of people do fall for these scams. thanks guys!
