avemaria
i'ts just funny to think how greed works in consuming someone.. it overshadows all reason.. so when you tell them you cashed their fake check and have the money, the thought of getting a part of that money for free makes them forget that no bank is going to cash such a fake check without clearing funds.. but no matter.. you have free money to give and are willing to give it.. it's why i love the ones that ask you to cash a huge check for them and they'll allow you to keep 10%.. not so common now as in the beginning of the net, but they're still out there.. TheDQkid
I got one of those checks about a year ago. This one was for a whopping 4500.00 US dollars. lol . I framed it and it is hanging on my office wall with the caption. "The most money I never made". lol

cricket
I got one for $4500 telling me to go to western union and where to wire the money and then I can cash the check. Yeah right. This letter actually had a number in Canada and said "Call for instructions if they are not clear". When I confronted the guy, he hung up. Don't ever deposit these checks, you will be out money. I get letters in my email all the time whereby they get your friend's names somehow and the letter says Hi, I am stranded and need money wired. Well, one of my friends is elderly and someone actually fell for this. It's horrible what people can do. I wish they would all get caught but somehow these thieves get away with it. Thank goodness for organizations like AARP who alert people in their newspapers.
rosiesmom
To be honest, I wouldn't even get involved with it. Just get ahold of the authorities and turn it over to them. If it is a scam, let them worry about it.
car9og
has anyone ever heard of "MF MicroMart Company"? i got an envelope 2day from them. it had a check made out for $1992.20. i glanced at it and said to myself, this is just a fake check and someone wanting to sell me something or the like. well i set it aside and a few hours later i looked it over out of curiousity, and lo and behold it is a real check. i dont know anything about this company.they said their affilate company"Consumer Survey Specialist"(?)reccommended me to them. the letter says that im wanted to take part in a paid shoppers program. i just dont know about this guys. the odd thing that raises a red flag to me is ive got to activate the check on their website. ive got a feeling they are gonna want too much info. just doesnt right. any help would be greatly appreciated on this matter. I received a scam check in the mail. I called the police who informed me that this is a scam. He advised me not to cash the check. I was told if you cash the check or deposit it in your checking account, you are setting yourself up for real trouble. Some kind of way these scam artist can do something to the checking account or steal information. My advice steer clear.
